Individual Therapy

Individual Therapy ✺

Individual TheraPy

Life changes are tough. I’m here to help you process, heal, and move forward—no judgment, just real support, at your pace.

If you’ve been feeling lost in your relationships, overwhelmed by emotion, stuck in loops of panic or shutdown, or questioning whether things can ever really get better — I want you to know there’s space for all of that here.

My approach integrates trauma-informed care with EMDR, IFS (Internal Family Systems), somatic practices, and narrative therapy. This means we honor the whole of you — not just symptoms, but your story, your nervous system, your protective parts, and your hopes for healing.

In IFS, we understand that intense emotions, self-criticism, or even urges to isolate aren’t signs that something is wrong with you — they’re signals from parts of you that have learned how to protect you in the face of pain. Together, we gently meet those parts with compassion and curiosity, not judgment.

Somatic and EMDR work help us access what words can’t always reach — the body’s memory, the frozen places that need time and presence to process and release. We don’t rush. We don’t push. We build safety first, then move toward integration.

If you’re caught in shame, depression, or hopelessness, we’ll also explore the stories you’ve been told — and the ones you’ve told yourself. Because those narratives matter. And when you begin to shift how you relate to your inner world, your outer world often starts to shift too.

No matter your background, ethnicity, sexuality, or age, you are welcome here. I believe that healing is a deeply personal journey, and I’m here to support you in your unique path, without judgment or assumptions. This is your space, and you deserve to heal in a way that feels authentic to you.

Healing isn’t about fixing yourself — it’s about reconnecting with yourself. At your own pace, in your own time. If you’re hurting, there’s room for that here. And there’s also room for hope.

How Individual Therapy Works

Step One: Schedule A Consult Call

I offer free 20-minute consultation calls to all new clients. I’ll ask you about issues you are currently experiencing and describe my therapeutic style and modalities. If for some reason we determine that it’s not the best match, I’ll provide you referrals/resources to help you move in a different direction.

Step Two: Book An Intake

Intake sessions are 53 minutes and cover your entire history. Intakes are more structured than other sessions; I take detailed notes to focus on where you’ve been and the direction you’d like to go. Sharing so much of your history within a short amount of time can feel like a lot, so be sure to schedule some time for self-care following the session.

Step Three: Complete Paperwork

All paperwork and payment methods will be filled out and completed electronically before the first intake session. It’s a quick process and should take no more than ten minutes. You’ll get a separate email with a Client Portal link for your sessions (if Virtual) or a separate email with office information (if In-Person).

Teletherapy Tips

Lighting

Try to position light sources in front of you rather than behind you. Ideally, you should face a window rather than sitting in front of one. If needed, you can set up additional light sources, such as a lamp, in front of you.

Audio

If possible, try to wear some sort of headphones when we talk. This reduces any echo in the audio and increases your sense of privacy. You can also adjust your Simple Practice settings to decrease background noise.

Camera

Position your device so I can see you clearly, placing your camera (aka green light) at eye level. The more I can see of you, the better!

Simple Practice

Hide self-view! If you were going to in-person therapy, you would not be looking into a mirror for 50-minutes straight watching your every move. This is as close to a “requirement” as it gets.

FAQs

  • For clients with insurance plans that I am not in-network with, your can request a detailed invoice or “superbill” for you to send to your insurance provider to receive reimbursement.

I recommend asking these questions to your insurance provider prior to your first session to help determine your benefits:

Does my mental health insurance plan include mental health benefits?

    • Does my plan cover telehealth sessions?

    • Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit

What are my out-of-network mental health benefits?

    • Do I have a deductible that applies to out-of-network mental health services? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?

    • Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for out-of-network mental health services to be covered?

    • Would my plan reimburse for out-of-network sessions performed by an associate?

  • Out-of-Network clients are required to pay the full session fee for canceled appointments, while Oregon Health Plan clients are not.

  • I am currently taking OHP/Care Oregon, Providence Health Plan and PacificSource CCO. It is your responsibility to know what your insurance benefits may be- regardless if you are in-network or out-of-network. You will be liable for payment on any claims that are rejected by your insurance or for any balances that may be applied towards your deductible.

  • Yes- I offer a number of sliding scale options. Please inquire about these when you contact me!

Please see the Rates & Payments section for more information.

  • The consultation is via phone for about 20 minutes. Our goal is to see if we are a good fit to move onto the first session. I’ll ask about what brings you to therapy, answer questions, and at the end we will decide if we want to try a first session together.

  • I am currently licensed in Oregon. At the time of your session you will need to be present in the state of Oregon for the session to occur.

I am not currently licensed in any other state at this time.
